McCrae is one of the Mornington Peninsula's most picturesque bayside suburbs, stretching along a beautiful arc of Port Phillip Bay beach between Dromana and Rosebud. The heritage-listed McCrae Lighthouse sits on the headland, marking the spot where some of the peninsula's earliest European settlers landed. Point Nepean Road is McCrae's main artery, and it carries heavy traffic during peak periods — particularly summer weekends and school holidays.
